Linda Steps
Linda Steps shows today's step count from Apple Health as a complication on your Apple Watch face — one big number in the middle of the face, easy to read at a glance. It works on every Apple Watch from Series 3 and the first Apple Watch SE onwards.
Getting started
- Install Linda Steps on your iPhone. The Apple Watch app installs with it — if it doesn't appear on your watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Available Apps and tap Install.
- Open Linda Steps on your iPhone and on your watch once, and tap Allow when asked for access to your steps in Apple Health.
- On your watch, touch and hold the watch face, tap Edit, swipe to Complications, tap the large middle slot of the Modular face (or Infograph Modular) and choose Linda Steps.
Questions
The number shows 0 or doesn't change
Linda Steps may not be allowed to read your steps. On your iPhone, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps › Linda Steps, and turn on Steps.
How often does it update?
The watch face updates about every 15 minutes, which is as often as Apple Watch allows complications to refresh. Opening Linda Steps on your watch updates it straight away.
Why is the watch number different from my iPhone?
Your iPhone and watch each keep their own copy of your Health data and sync it every so often, so the totals can differ for a little while. They catch up on their own.
The watch app doesn't appear
Check your watch is paired with the iPhone that has Linda Steps, then use the Watch app on your iPhone › Available Apps › Install. Linda Steps needs watchOS 8 or later.
